Tomorrow is almost here!
The 2010 A Walk in the Park Irvington Art Fair WILL HAPPEN on Saturday August 21, 2010 from Noon-6pm in Ellenberger Park. Read what all you can do:
- Enjoy over 40 artists. Leaisurely shopping and one of a kind creations.
- Eat food from CP Catering and AlliCarte Catering. Ribs, Chicken, Hot Dogs, Walking Tacos, Ice Cream, Lemonade and MORE!!
- Watch a live animal show by ANIMALIA from 1-3pm near Dali's Digs for Kids on the stage.
- Did I mention Dali's Digs? We will be printmaking, creating tissue paper stained glass and bringing to life real works by Kandinski, Munch and VanGogh as GIANT murals!
- Be sure to visit the IGA booth for more information about how you can help plan for and bring to life a great 2011 arts season in Irvington.
- Many Irvington community organizations will be on hand to answer questions and tell you how you can get involved.

Irvington Halloween Festival 4th Annual Poster Contest
2010 Poster Design Contest
The Historic Irvington Community Council (HICC) requests proposals for a poster to commemorate the 64th annual Historic Irvington Halloween Festival (IHF).
The Irvington Halloween Festival is a family event that has been a part of Irvington for over 60 years and is centered around the children of Irvington. This week-long festival / fundraiser is hosted by the HICC. The HICC is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that works to improve the quality of life for all Irvington residents and businesses. The Halloween Festival and its associated events more than 10,000 people each year. This year’s festival will include haunted ghost tours, The Slightly Haunted Puppet Show, Halloween themed children’s movies, a house decorating contest, and more. The week of festivities concludes on Saturday October 30 festival that features, a parade, over 130 vendors, a costume contest, live music, games, crafts and other entertainment.
The poster should represent and reflect the spirit and essence of this event. The 2010 Irvington Halloween Festival runs from October 23rd through the 30th.
Final art and entry forms are due by Friday, Aug 6th, 2010, at 6 PM and may be dropped off at the Irvington Branch Library.
Artists will be notified contest results by Friday August 13, 2010.

The IGA is a member supported organization and without you we can't continue the amazing programs and events we organize and support - like the Art Walk June 5th, Creative Art Camp in July and the Walk in the Park in August.
IGA Collectors Show Opening 5/21
The Collectors Show highlights the private art collections of local residents and acts as a catalyst for those looking to start their own collection or to learn about why they should collect fine art. Food and wine will complement this evening reception and we hope you will join us for this free event!

Stephen Rose, owner of Stephen Rose Fine Art, will share stories behind the history of photogrpahy and how it made an inpact in our world. See examples of various photographic processes, from cyanotypes to polaroid transfers and gum bichromate to gelatin silver. Stephen was a professor of photography in Boston, has been a dealer of fine photography for many years, and a gifted photographer in his own right. Casserole: A Mixture of Photographic Thoughts
New works by INvision: Alliance of Photographic Artists
On View: January 11 – March 27, 2010 at the Bona Thompson Memorial Center
Hours: Wednesday 1 – 3pm; Saturday and Sunday 1 – 4pm, and by appt.
Reception: Jan. 15, 5:30 – 8pm; casseroles will be served.
Open First Fridays: February 5 and March 5 from 5:30 – 8pm.
Free admission to all events and open to the public
Casserole: A Mixture of Photographic Thoughts contains new works by INvision artists, including works using historic processes and digital technology. Artworks will include imagery concerning ideas about architecture, the landscape, and portraiture. The artists will be at the reception on January 15 from 5:30 to 8:00pm to meet with patrons. Join the artists to enjoy the artwork, good food, including casseroles, and lively conversation.
Casserole: A Mixture of Photographic Thoughts is presented with support from the Irvington Guild of Artists and the Irvington Historical Society.
About the organizations:
INvision: Alliance of Photographic Artists has been meeting together to promote and advance the art of photography since the mid 1990’s. INvision provides a platform for photographic discourse in order to encourage the artistic growth of its members and to enrich the lives of interested people through the experience of photography. Members are from many walks of life and find that art photography is the creative outlet that feeds their soul. Patrons will find a diverse group of image-making techniques and imagery from the members of INvision as each photographer shares their unique vision about this world in which we live.
